We collect little, we sell nothing about you, and the civic record we publish is about public business — not about you.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and the sign-in session that keeps you logged in (a signed cookie).
- Orders: what you bought and your billing details, processed by WooCommerce and WooPayments. We never see or store your full card number.
- Identity verification (Verified Circles only): handled by Stripe Identity. We receive a pass/fail result and never your documents or biometric data.
- Member features: things you deliberately save — saved searches, record alerts, records requests, render requests — stored so the feature can work for you.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information. Ever.
- We do not run advertising trackers on member surfaces.
- We do not gate public records behind identity — reading the civic record requires no account at all.
Who else touches your data
Only the processors that make the store work: WordPress.com (hosting), WooCommerce/WooPayments (checkout and payments), and Stripe Identity (verification, if you choose the verified circles). Each handles your data under its own privacy terms. We share data with authorities only when the law genuinely requires it.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you — write via the contact options on elementlotus.com or reply to any order email. Deleting your account removes your member data; order records are kept as long as tax and commerce law requires. Passes never auto-renew, so lapsing away is always an option that costs nothing.
Where and how it is kept
Member feature data lives on our own systems; store data lives with WordPress.com/WooCommerce. We use standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) and signed sessions. No system is perfect; if a breach ever affects your data we will tell you plainly and quickly.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it. Real questions get real answers — ask.
