Know What Just Happened in That Meeting — Introducing Watcher

You are watching the county meeting live. Someone just said something important — about a contract, a vote, a name you recognize. You want to know what it means, who said it, and what the public record shows about it, right now, while you are still watching.

That is exactly what Watcher does.

Here Is How It Works

Whether you are watching Akaku (Channel 53) from your couch, sitting in the chambers at Kalana O Maui, or following along from your phone — open Watcher at any point during the meeting.

When something happens that you want on record, press MARK THIS MOMENT. Watcher captures the timestamp, the agenda item on the table, and begins preparing your public-record summary of that moment.

You then tell us where you stand: FOR. AGAINST. NEUTRAL. Your position, logged against the official public record of that meeting.

Within minutes, Watcher delivers a clean, neutral summary pulled entirely from official records: the agenda item, its description, who testified, and the publicly stated positions. No spin. No opinion added. The government’s own record, organized for you.

Your First Report Is Free

We want you to try it. Mark a moment from any live Maui County committee meeting — enter your email, get your one free public-record report. No credit card. No commitment.

The report is yours to keep, share, or submit as written testimony. It is a plain-English document sourced entirely from the government’s own public record. You can share it with a neighbor, bring it to the next meeting, or file it with the committee clerk.

Ready to try it? Email us at elementlotus@gmail.com with the subject line Watcher Free Report and tell us which meeting you’re watching. We will get you set up immediately.

What the Full Watcher Service Includes

Subscribers to the full Watcher service get the complete picture — updated automatically, for every meeting, not just the moment you mark.

  • Real-time testifier feed — as people testify, Watcher captures their names and stated positions from the live record
  • Campaign finance cross-reference — every testifier’s name is checked against the Hawaii Campaign Spending Commission public donor database; any connection to the officials voting on that item is flagged as a question for oversight
  • Strength-scored alerts — Watcher scores each moment 1–5 based on how much public-record corroboration exists; strength-5 means multiple sourced records point to the same pattern
  • Your full meeting record — every item, every testifier, every alert, organized by meeting date and committee
  • Downloadable reports — take any moment or full meeting summary as a document you can use, share, or file

Full subscriptions are verified through Stripe. Your access is tied to your verified identity — not a shared password. The service launches shortly; sign up for early access below.

This Is All Public Record

Every piece of data Watcher uses comes from official government records: Maui County Legistar agendas and minutes, the Hawaii Campaign Spending Commission’s public donor database, and the live broadcast of public meetings on Akaku Community Media, Channel 53.

Watcher does not generate opinions. It does not make accusations. It organizes what the government has already put into the public record and presents it plainly so you can form your own conclusions. The question framing is ours — the facts belong to the people.

Public testimony is a right. The public record is yours. Watcher just makes it possible to act on it in real time.

Watcher is part of the govOS civic platform built by 12sgi — the same system that documented today’s live testimony on Resolution 26-100 at the Maui County Budget, Finance and Economic Development Committee. We build these tools because the people who show up deserve to be heard and documented.

Aloha kekahi i kekahi.
